Pools, Renata Spa and the gym: a day of rest without leaving the hotel

— Royal Halong Hotel

The indoor pool with turquoise water beneath skylights in the ceiling, white-tiled floor and walkways, sun loungers along the far wall and white curtains to the right

Not every day of a holiday needs a plan. Some days you simply want to swim, train a little and then lie still for a spa treatment. Royal Ha Long Hotel has four spaces for days like these, three of them together on the hotel’s third floor.

Indoor and outdoor pools

The indoor pool on the third floor is lit through glass ceiling panels, and the water is kept at a temperature close to that of the body, so it is swimmable all year round. The shallow end has steps with a handrail, and rattan tables and loungers line the pool so you can order food and drinks where you sit.

The outdoor pool lies within Royal Villas, between tall palms and white balustrades. By day it is a place to sunbathe; at the end of the day the water catches the city’s sunset. The Pool Bar beside it serves chilled drinks and Asian–European light bites. After dark, the terrace around the pool also hosts evening parties and outdoor weddings.

A gym facing the bay

The fitness centre on the third floor has a full wall of glass looking out over the bay. Treadmills, exercise bikes, a squat rack and free weights are all on hand. The gym and the pools are free for in-house guests.

A slow hour at Renata Spa

Renata Spa shares the floor with the gym, finished in dark wood and kept softly lit. Treatments include full-body massage, facial massage, sauna, nail care and hair styling. There are single treatment rooms and twin rooms with two beds side by side for guests travelling together.

To fold a sauna or a foot massage into your stay, take a look at the packages on our Accommodation offers page: several include a dry sauna or steam room, and some add a 60-minute foot massage for two guests. Details of each facility are on our Experiences page.
